NCCA of KHF recognized by UNFPA as the Global Centre of Excellence for Theatre Based PEER Education Training


Basedon an invitation by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Asia PacificRegional Office, the Director General of the National Centre for Culture andArts (NCCA) Lina Attel participated in the Y-PEER Inter-Regional Coordinationand Consultation Meeting held in Bangkok from the 16th – 17thof June 2014.

TheMeeting was attended by representatives from UNFPA Regional Offices of ArabStates, Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Asia and Pacific and Mr. AleksandarSasha Bodiroza, UNFPA Technical Adviser and founder of the Y-PEER Network andTheatre Based PEER Education Training, in addition to Y-PEER InternationalCoordinator Mr. Peter Mladenov and Y-PEER Arab States Coordinator Ms. DareenAbu Lail.

TheAgenda of the meeting included an extensive presentation by Lina Attel aboutthe methodology and achievements of NCCA as the Regional Centre of Excellenceon Theatre Based PEER Education Training, certified and accredited by theInternational Theatre Institute (ITI), UNESCO in order to expand trainingopportunities to youth of the Y-PEER network globally
